Welcome to Bolander Organic Farms
Nestled along Route 23 in Genoa, Illinois, we grow certified organic produce using regenerative practices that nourish the soil and deliver exceptional flavor to your table.
Generations of family farming wisdom applied to every seed we sow.
USDA-certified organic practices — no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, ever.
Diverse growing plots across the fertile Genoa countryside.
Our Story
Bolander Organic Farms sits on land that has been tended by the same family for over three generations. What began as a modest vegetable patch along Route 23 has grown into a 40-acre certified organic operation, supplying fresh produce to restaurants, markets, and families throughout northern Illinois.
"We don't just grow food. We grow the kind of food that reminds you what farming was always meant to be."

How It Works
Our process is simple, transparent, and rooted in respect for the land.
Certified organic methods, crop rotation, and composting keep our soil alive and productive year after year.
Everything is hand-picked at peak ripeness — never rushed, never stored too long, always fresh.
CSA boxes, restaurant orders, and farm stand sales — all handled with care from field to destination.
Taste the difference that fresh, organic, locally grown food makes. That's the whole point.
Kind Words
The quality of produce from Bolander is unmatched in the area. Our restaurant has been sourcing from them for three seasons, and the consistency is remarkable.
Our CSA box every week feels like a gift. My children now ask for vegetables by name — something I never thought would happen. Thank you for nourishing our family.
The farm tour was the highlight of our school trip. The children learned more about where food comes from in one afternoon than they have all year in class.
I've tried growing my own organic garden for years. The workshop at Bolander changed everything for me — I finally understand what I was doing wrong.
